Game doesn't load, asks for old Physx driver

I bought the game today, and I'm trying to launch the game, but every time I do (i.e I set my settings and press 'Play'), the game gets stuck on the loading screen. A pop up appears behind it (you have to alt+tab to it) saying that the game needs Physx 2.8.1. I went to the prerequisites folder in the game directory and tried installing those: only directx one and the Physx one would launch at all, and the Physx said I had a newer version

I'd really rather not uninstall my current Physx and use an older one for just one game. Any other solution?

Have you tried the Physx Legacy Driver[www.nvidia.com]? It installs separately from the current Physx install, so it only gets used on older games that need it.

I did install that before (for Velvet Assassin), but it still wouldn't work. An Nvidia driver update got the game working, though

I installed the legacy Physx driver from Nvidia's site, then did a proper Nvidia driver update

Only had to update my nVidia drivers and it works.

Game works and looks great on pc, so I don't know what you're referring to. Details?

normally it would be enough to update the physx drivers
To me it says that the drivers are at the maximum of the updates, and it doesn't work anyway. other solutions? I also tried compatibility windows, scripts to adapt it to the system, virtual machines. anything.

friend. have you tried to uninstall all the components of the physx, uninstall the game, install the new updates of the physx that you find in the appropriate Nvidia page, and reinstall the game? with me it worked. because when you download the game you also download the necessary stuff of the physx to play the game, but when it sees that there are more updated things it conflicts, it stops downloading stuff because it is obsolete, and when you have finished installing the game it goes with the most updated stuff
