Windows 7 64-bit "bugs" solution!
For anyone who owns windows 7 64-bit this game WILL work. Left as is, the game will sometimes have problems when attempting to move certain vehicals, will appear to have AI issues and will crash at certain points. The very simple solution I discovered in these foums and by experimenting was turning on vertical sysnc. This fixed all vehical and AI issues I was having. Switiching to Vista compatibility mode resolved the crashes at certain stages. Unlike Lego LOTRO & Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, Lego Batman will not work correctly on a 64-bit platform "as is". Some tweaking is needed but it does work. Hopefully this will be fixed in the near future as I suspect the lego games are about to become very popular...again!

TL: DR. Switch on Vista compatibility mode in wondows 7 and Vertical Sync in game to resolve game play issues.

Not sure what to say to you then :( The above solution worked on my main machine and my kids lap top and as I said, I found the soultions elsewhere online. Shame really...these games are great fun. They really should be patched up to current standards as they are the sort of games that have a long shelf life!

Wrong. This game has worked flawlessly for me on my Windows 7 64-bit machine.

Again, incorrect. This game works out of the box on my Windows 7 64-bit machine.

Good for you Gargan26. I'm glad it worked "as is" for you but this was not the case for me and many other users as these and all the other lego games, as the forums prove. Heck....many of the games are not even sold as having Win 64 support! And with that point I'd suggest you dont tell someone they are wrong or incorrect just because everything was ok for you! Its very rude and ignorant! My post was for those suffering the problems, not those that are not!

Actually, I was just disproving your earlier post that the game will not work "as is" for 64-bit platforms and that "tweaking" is required. Your post makes the (invalid) assumption that *all* 64-bit platforms are affected as yours apparently is. I simply provided information that disproves that assumption.

Your really not proving anything gargan26 other than you like to post your opinion as fact. Just because it worked ok for you does not mean it worked ok for everyone else. It certainly did not work "as is" for me and plenty of other people have had issues in this and other forums ....so I posted the guide...so please take your opinion that you are "disproving" something and do one.

Stop being such a jerk. He DID prove you wrong, because you DO claim that tweeking is NEEDED.

And btw, your "fix" doesn't work at all, at least for me.

You act like a spoiled brat who can't handle that your "facts" aren't facts at all.

I do run Windows 7 x(64). I do not use vertical sync. I have never had any problems whatsoever! ;v)

Ditto. Never had any problems / issues with any LEGO games since ever - with Seven 64bit, HD3850 or HD6850, vertical sync and 360 controller. Maybe not even a CTD for that matter.

Thank you. Switching vertical sync on helped solve the problem I had with Robin's tech suit -- I couldn't get him to control anything with any degree of accuracy. I do still experience quite a few CTDs (crashes to desktop), however.

I'm running Windows 8.1 64-bit with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660.

The game doesn't start for me at all. I'm using Windows 8.1.

edit: nevermind, running as admin fixed it.

The suggestions proposed by The Maddog to turn vsync on under the game video options worked for me. I'm using Windows 7 SP1, Radeon HD 7870, 12GB RAM. Thanks!
