LEGO® Batman™: The Videogame

Under The City
I have watched videos of Batman following Robin in a certain scene in Under The City, but when I get Robin to walk across the second metallic strip Batman just does not follow. Is this a fault within the game?

It's been a long time since I played through the game and I'm not sure where you're stuck, but I watched a video and there's one point where Robin uses the magnet suit and Batman has to go back and switch from the explosive suit to the glide suit to get across the same gap.

If that's not it, some more details about where you're stuck, or a screenshot, might help.

When Robin walks across the horizontal metal strip, Batman just kind of "runs on the spot", in his glide suit and making no attempt to follow Robin.
Did you try switching to Batman to do the jump yourself? You can switch between the characters at any time.
I will give it another go; I've sort of tried to do this but all Batman seems to do is fall away from the "target".

Still no success, despite many times of trying either with Batman "flying" over the gap, or Robin walking on the metal strip. Batman steadfastly refuses to follow, so that's it; game over. Could be a glitch, who knows.
Assuming that you're talking about the place that I think you are, I just played through that with no problems. I switched Batman to the glide suit and Robin to magnetic, and after Robin walked across (and fought a few gators), Batman showed up on his own (I didn't have to take control of him).

If that's the right spot, I have a couple of suggestions.

Have Steam verify the game files, just in case something is corrupted. I doubt that it will help, but there's no harm in making sure.

Make sure that V-Sync is on. Having it off can cause various problems in this game. The most common one seems to be problems controlling the RC car, but it can cause a number of other problems. It wouldn't surprise me if it kept Batman from grabbing on when he flies over that gap.

If V-Sync appears to be on in the game and you're still having problems, have Steam or something display the frame rate while you're playing the game, and make sure that the displayed rate matches the one set in the game. Video card drivers can override the game setting.

Thank you so much for your help. V-Sync was turned off. Now to continue with the game!!
You're welcome. Glad that you finally got it working. When I finally thought of V-Sync while writing that last post, it seemed like a fairly obvious guess. I guess I didn't think of it earlier because I don't remember seeing anyone post your specific problem before.

Have fun. :steamhappy:
