@gmdmb3 As I said the above fixed the crashes for me but you could also try turning off enhanced graphics, running in comparability mode as admin and reinstalling DirectX from the game folder.
Haven't tested this as I uninstalled it out of crash frustration: I've read that turning off ENHANCED GRAPHICS in settings and ensuring video drivers are up to date can fix the crashes.
See if that works.......... I'll be coming back to this game in a short while and testing the above approach myself. I used to get random crashes to the desktop with no error message. Just a "clean" crash.
