How do you make it windowed?
I'm just trying to talk with my friends while I play, but the game won't let me take it from full screen to windowed. Can someone help me please?

Go into the game's properties and type "-windowed" under launch options. It's not perfect as I haven't figured out how to adjust the window's size yet, but it works.

It'll start the window in the center of your screen and you won't be able to move it (yet), but alt+tab to another open window, then you'll be able to click the title bar and drag it to wherever you want it.

No problem! I was just looking into how to do it myself since I can't stream games in full screen and that was one thing that actually worked for me.

I've also tried DxWnd since my last comment and it's working better so far. I like that I can at least change the resolution using it.

DxWnd?

DxWnd worked for me. It's a program designed to force games to run in windowed mode.

If you take that route, you have to add the Lego Batman .exe to DxWnd, then in that .exe's settings window in DxWnd, type your preferred resolution in to the 'window initial position and size' boxes, then go to the video tab and choose 'native' as the screen resolution. Launching the game from DxWnd then should make it run in windowed mode.

Selecting the native screen resolution is the most important part, as selecting any other option will cause it to crash.

This works not only on Lego Batman, but on every Lego game I've tried (Lego Batman 1, 2 & 3, Lego Star Wars Saga & Clone Wars, Lego Pirates Of The Carribean, Lego Indiana Jones 1 & 2, Lego Lord Of The Rings & The Hobbit). The Steam UI will still function through it, as will achievements. The only downside I've found is that it hooks the mouse cursor to the window, so you still have to alt+tab to switch focus and get your mouse cursor back for anything you're doing in the background, but other than that it seems to work flawlessly.

Shift + Tab to open steam overlay and then windows key and you should be able to use the task bar to exit full screen.
