Ps4 controller problem!!!

So I've been trying to play singleplayer with my PS4 controller, however when I play it seems that when I press Square, Triangle, or what ever, that second player gets enabled... i can run around and the ai controlling robin follows me but when ever i jump, attack or press triangle to switch to robin the ai gets stuck. i cant move anywhere because the camera wont let me go away from robin and robin is stuck. Weird thing is, game worked fine yesterday, i did not have this problem at all. Only today when trying to play it does this. i googled but found very little information about this bug. please someone help me find a solution, i really dont want to play with keyboard. I am using DS4Windows. i tried to verify integrity files of the game, i tried to restart the game, i've been unplugging and plugging my controller back in. the weirdest part is that this game worked fine yesterday, what couldve had happened? PLEASE HELP

UPDATE!
Guys i just did some experimenting and found out why it worked yesterday. Turns out if i start a new game it works fine, i can punch, jump, switch characters no problem. BUT when i load my game and start at the bat cave, whenever i press any of the circle, triangle square or x buttons the game somehow enables player 2 and i cant do anything. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this? Why does the controller work fine when starting new game but when i load my previous save file it bugs out? If anyone knows, please help!

Yup, i tried it again. i made a second save file. starting a new game controller worked fine. no problems. then i quit and from the menu i loaded the game and guess what. it did the bug again. this is so weird and frustrating, i just want to play lego game with controller. basically if i want to play with controller i gotta finish this game in 1 sitting if i dont want the bug to happen because whenever i load game the bug happens. or i play with keyboard. i hope no other lego games have this problem. well now i know what causes the bug, if anyone has a fix for it please help!

I'm having an similar issue, but the AI doesn't follow me but I can perform actions and the same thing happens when i start a new game, and its happening in other lego games too

Maybe if you try to add the game to your steam library and then try big picture mode? you can add a non steam game to your steam library under your games where it says "Add Game"

if anyone is still having this problem, go to big picture - settings - controller settings - and just tick PlayStation configuration support or Xbox configuration support

I had the same problem. It was steam default detect and use of controller. So I set it us unabled and configurated the controls myself. That fixes that
