Crashing issue
Hi there, I bought this game awhile back on my old laptop and I now have a new pc that is modern in today's standards bur however, It keeps crashing on the first level of the game. Can anyone help me out with this. I installed some mods as well before playing the game. I have been thinking about re-installing it again.

First two suggestions:

Have Steam verify the game files. Maybe you have some corrupted files. No harm in checking.

Make sure that Vertical Sync is turned on in the game settings. Having V-Sync off in this game has caused problems for many. The problem is usually with objects in the game that don't interact properly, but I think it seemed to fix crashes for at least one person. IAC, it's easy enough to try it.

I turned on vertical sync and it fixed the problem. Thank you.

Glad to hear it. You're welcome.

It's kind of weird. In the past, it seemed to only affect how objects interact in the game, but you're the 2nd person just recently that has reported that turning on V-Sync fixed crashes. I wonder if there's an issue with recent video hardware or drivers?

I’ve never had any problems with lego games like this older ones i mean. And my specs are a nvidia gtx 1660 ti, 16 GB ram, and an intel i7 with the other modern day pc specs

It's just interesting that crashes seem to be a recent symptom of the V-Sync problem. But it could just be a coincidence.
