Standard or expert difficulty ?
Hi,

I have the game on PS3, and I am about to play it
But should I start on standar or expert difficulty ?
For survival horror I always choose the ahrdest settings from the start, because I think those games have to be difficult.

But the way the difficulty is introduced to you in this game is weird.

The game is asking me if I alwready know the game very well to be able to play in expert...
Should I know the game to choose the difficulty option ?
What does it mean ?
What is the difference in expert mode ?

Thx for any advice, no spoilers please

While it might be a bit late, here is a tip : hard mode restricts the use of the map and don't show you the "X" sign when you can interact with the items, you have to try to pick everything on yourself.

Ok thx, Is tarted in expert, and that explains why my character always tells me he does not need to look at the map when I ask him to !!!
If i want to look at it, it is because you need it idiot ! ><
This is silly since you still see the map in cinematics...

But on the other hand, not having X showing everywhere is better for immersion in Suvival Horror, I don't like to see HUD in that kind of games.

These are bearly changes, it does not really raise the difficulty...

Believe me, it's hard enough like that. While you don't know it except by little clues dispatched here and there, you got a "sanity" gauge. The end you will get depends on this sanity. And getting the better ending required you not to kill any monsters in the whole game, and obviously having your sanity near it's maximum. This "invisible but still very very important fact" ruined the whole game for me as getting the best ending (or at last one that's not totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥) needs you to totally break your immersion.

Well I don't want to be too much spoiled, I think you told me too much alwready...but yea it looks like my char is going crazy right now.

But the infinite ammos with the blue pills makes the game really easy, I don't understand why they did that, it takes away all the tension, the stress...

But if only I could find that can opener, my character is starving and the only food I have is in metal boxes...

They warned you before, don't they ? I'm pretty sure there was a sheet of paper with "don't eat these unless you're in very bad trouble" written on it. Be carefull about the side effects.

SPOILER

Ok I just finished the game...and everything went wrong, I died at the end :(
Well I like the atmosphere, story seems good, but I don't really get it, and overhaul this game reminded me of my beloved Silent Hill 2 I am absolutly found of.

But I am a little but disapointed, playing withe the blue pills was sooo easy, I have the feeling to have waisted my playtrhough, and to have played in training or easy mode.
This game is very short, so playing it this way is not the best...but I guess that was the practice first playtrhough.
