Cortex Command Community Project Update: Release 6.0
Hello everyone! I'm happy to announce Cortex Command Community Project v6.0.0 is finally here!

This release is a big one, including massive technical overhauls and rewrites. Cortex Command has been thoroughly modernized, and there's been a big focus on adding new functionality that is extremely useful for both mods and for vanilla content. If you've been quietly watching this community and waiting for a big release to come along, now is the time to give a try. I personally recommend giving the Decision Day gamemode a shot: you'll be blown away by how far we've come from the Steam build.

I can't thank enough every single contributor, who has done an incredible amount of work to make this the greatest iteration of Cortex Command yet. Over 36 people have contributed to the project so far, which makes me speechless. Please give them all your thanks, and please come join us to make this game even better!

Some of the improvements this latest release brings include:
* Enormous performance increases, with multithreaded AI, Lua, and pathfinding, GPU-accelerated post-effects, and optimizations to all parts of the game
* Saved games, so you can save your progress during your activity to pick it up later
* A sound overhaul, with much meatier and all-new impact noises, explosions, footsteps, foley and a lot else. Browncoats in particular have seen a big focus, with all-new weapon and item sounds
* An in-game pause menu (finally!)
* Blood stains! After an intense fight, this really has a big impact on the look of the battlefield
* Three new Browncoat items have been added: a shield with reactive explosive armor, a revolver, and a close-range incendiary battle rifle
* Countless new tweaks and fixes, improving game balance, AI, and general stability
* Movement and navigation improvements, with much more consistent and stumble-free walking and new features such as auto-crouching in tight spaces and tunnels
* Tracy profiler integration. This allows profiling the game and Lua scripts, and has already been used by some modders to massively increase the performance of their mods
* New Lua bindings and INI properties. The additions here are huge and can be seen in the full changelog, and gives much more capability for both mods and the vanilla game
* Many new systems that will support many game mechanics, like capture points, buy doors, dropship docks, item dispensers, AI tactics systems, and more. These aren't used in vanilla yet, but are fully available to modders and will be used heavily in our next release
