I'm the project lead of the effort to update CC, the Cortex Command Community Project (CCCP).
We've already made some awesome changes, and have plans for a ton more. Our next pre-release is coming out soonish, and we're always looking for more hands, thoughts or feedback, so feel free to join us there.
I'll just drop a website link, since that links everywhere else:

Maybe someday Data will want to have it act as an update to the Steam version, but we have no say in that, and I think for the time being he's focused on other things.
Why is cortex command "for sale" on Steam for 20 dollars and yet if it has been turned into a community project, it is free on Git Hub???
Is the version on Steam also the community developed one???
