Crysis 3 Remastered Bug - Rescuing the APC From Mines ?
There's a scene in Crysis 3 Remastered where you rescue some kind of APC or tank with a .50 cal machine gun on the top from mines. after you rescue the driver and his vehicle from the mines surrounding it, he offers to give you a ride. Almost immediately after you're in the vehicle and start riding away from the mines that had trapped him which you disabled, you are attacked by one pinger from the left side, one pinger from up on a distant ridge to the center right of your view, and another smaller ceph unit (also up on same ridge).

There doesn't appear to be any way to kill all 3 using the .50 cal weapon you have on the roof of the APC. Just doesn't have the punch needed for this fight.

So you have to exit the APC almost immediately to get some missile launchers & C4 inside a big pipe laying in the ground, and use those to take out the pingers and the smaller ceph unit before heading back to the APC.

But once you get back on the APC gun turret, the driver is no longer driving it... why? The APC is undamaged. If you get in anyway, the driver doesn't drive it. He just sits there in the middle of the battlefield nonsensically.

I don't think this is a "bug" exactly because when you go back to the APC, the game gives you a red X indicator when you approach it I guess to suggest you shouldn't get back in it. And there's some kind of buggy vehicle right nearby that shoots much more powerful missiles... very conveniently, so I guess that's what you're supposed to ride at this point.

But still... why doesn't the APC work?

Plus, that sounds like a fun scene driving an APC with a big gun through a battlefield and blasting stuff all in Crysis 3 Remastered graphics with lots of explosions. Unfortunate...

It's not a bug and is the same as in the original game.

Now it's been a while since i've played C3, but have you rescued the mortar team yet? I think if you rescue them first, they will be able to take down the pingers, which will make your job easier when it comes to the APC.

I rescued the mortar team after I killed the pingers. The pingers were between me and the mortar team, so I reached the mortar team after I guess. There was some lines of dialog with the mortar team telling me to mark targets for them in the visor, but there were of course no targets left to mark because I already took out the pingers.

In cases like this, I find myself wishing the game was more linear like COD so I can't do things in the "wrong" order and miss out on seeing the mortar team take out the pingers.

I believe the APC has a scripted route and will stop even outside the cave if it encounters alien mines, of which there are many in this area, not just the ones you have to clear to rescue it. So you might have to hack or destroy those too for it to start moving again. Could be a glitch as well though, who knows.

But honestly I'm not sure what even happens to this APC in the end. I don't think it ever survived when I played because there are so many things that can kill it, and there's only so much you can take out with the .50 cal. It always seemed like a pointless secondary objective to me. I guess next time I play I'll have to try and clear the entire area of enemies and mines first and see where it ends up.

The only not-AK47 rifle in the game will spawn in the crashed plane if you do all the objectives. That's all there's to it.

I did this section just now, I had rescued the mortar team before, they had enough ammo to take out 2 "pingers" and then said I was on my own, but there was a 3rd at least, which funnily enough before I even managed to kill myself got utterly destroyed by the aliens very own mortar fire which was raining down the area, it awarded an achievement "Ping Pong" description reading "killed all pingers" and then I stumbled upon the rebels trapped by the APC with mines surrounding them, hacked those, got the not-AK74, I did initially jump on the turret of the APC but it ran out of ammo super fast (no pingers ambushed us, all were gone), and I found that it was just easier on foot to deal with some of the remaining Ceph, backtracked to a crashed vtol with some rebels trapped inside, continued to last AA to disable, the rebel APC was still alive, but sadly kind of just stopped and didn't do anything at the end of the road, a shame, not even awarded with some piece of dialogue :/

My bug on that part is that the hacking the missle mines option doesn't appear when I look at them with the visor
