Hitmarkers? What do they mean?
What the hell is up with the hitmarkers? Does every weapon have a lower damage for me? When I play, I need at least 5 or 6 hits for a kill, yet in killcams I see people just spraying in my general direction, land 2 hits and the second hit kills me. Last round I was using the 5 round burst SMG, and I managed to get 10 hitmarkers, including 2 headshots, before I got my kill. Then I got killed across the map by a guy with the starting pistol, 3 hits...

Why is the connection in this game so messed up..? An SMG or AR should not need more than 4 hits max to kill someone..

Even on hardcore, where almost everything kills in 1 hit, even there I can get 3 hits with an AR before I get a kill..

Lag compensation.

It favors people with slow internet to make the game "fair". Yeah, right...

Yep i totally agree with you. The 5 shot burst smg is the biggest crap ever. Most of the time you need 2-3 bursts to kill someone. It seems like that not every hitmark you get are really damage the enemy because sometimes you get around 6 hitmarks and dont kill the guy and then? You get the kill within 3-4 hitmakrs. Its completely messed up. Headhsots in this game are also useless. It cant be true that you need 3 headshots to kill someone when an assault rifle needs only 4 shots (without headshot) to kill... It happende so often that the game shows me i get 2 headshots and another 1-2 hitmakrs and the guy doenst die. I dont think that hitmakrs showing correclty... but what you expect with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lag.

But if it's lag compensation, shouldn't it work both ways?

For instance, I see someone first and shoot first, I get 4 hitmarkers. He reacts, hipfires in my direction and the second hit kills me. It's becoming an issue for me where I really can't even make any kills.. I just finished a round 2-28, because every single person just out-damages me no matter what I try.

Even the considered OP weapons (Bal, AK, EM1) don't work for me. I can empty half the clip into someone, to just see them turn around with a red screen, panic spray and kill me in 2 hits...

I can clearly see that I am hitting a person, why the flying hell does it only give hits, but no kills >_<

Like it litterally feels like I have 10 health and all my enemies have 500...

I wouldn't be surprised if the weapons actually did random damage.

I know your pain bro... Sometimes it seems ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ impossible that you dont get the kill but then you died instantly. That happened to often in this game. Anyway if you see some killcams you also notice that the enemy saw you a way earlier than you saw him. Its totaly crap.

heres a video of it screwing me over, and that is probably whats happening to you best way to get around it is to shoot in front of where they are going.

center mass shots become knicks on back elbow making more hitmarkers needed to put em down.

No, ironically.

The lag compensation is designed to give those with slower internet a better online experience so they can compete with those with faster internet (or who are closer to the host) at the expense of those who have decent interent. It's messed up.

There are countless stories like yours on consoles and PC for AW.

There is something inherently wrong with the netcode because while previous CoDs had lag comp, it was never this bad. People's enjoyment of the game has dropped since launch because they can't even maintain a 1:1 K/D ratio thanks to the lag comp AND the Skill Based Matchmaking (SBMM).

Yes but lag compensation is not a bad thning. Most games would be unplayable without it for many people. CS:Go has also a lag compensation and this game runs really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ smooth. Its just about the netcode and optimisation. They just messed the ♥♥♥♥ up with their bad programing. And yes p2p is also a bad factor here.

True, lag comp is a necessary evil until we are all running FO lines around the world and get LAN-like latency across oceans and deserts. However, the difference is the Source engine also has variables that you can tweak that also help negate or fine tune the lag comp so you get more consistent performance. AW doesn't have that because while it is based on Quake III, they disabled a lot of cvars... Probably because you can't access them on consoles, plus some of them were used by cheaters and hackers in the early days of the OGC hack.

quake 3 has/had far less lag then AW, btw the rocket launcher and raikgun TTK was probably faster then any gun in COD.

and ya that shotty was such BS, and that is exactly why I know they aren't nerfing any guns this time either.

Sniper rifles are the railguns of CoD. That's where the whole QuickScoping phemomena began since CoD is based on Quake 3.

Also, like others said, even previous CoD games never had this much lag. Some say it is due to more people getting high speed internet than in the past. If that's true, then they need to adjust the netcode so it doesn't favor people with slower internet connections. Dedicated servers would help at least mitigate the lag comp since it can't be totally removed...
