Player numbers are gradually decreasing :(
Firstly - i love the game.
But its sad to see each week the numbers gradually slipping.

COD used to be the staple for large number of players. Its why i got into it. I want something i can guarantee that i can find people to play with in all game modes. Thats how i get value from my purchase.

This is already down to 16k peak per day from 35k on release.

My fingers are crossed that this is just because AC:Unity and FC:4 have been released along with Dragon Age: Inquisition - perhaps stealing some players. I also hope christmas brings in more users.

I wish that Activision would realise that player numbers is the most important thing for longevity. I can't justify future COD purchases after numbers like this. First Ghosts and now this. And this game is genuinely amazing. Best COD in a long time but the stats are telling.

What other games can i look into that have more guaranteed player numbers?

I recommend the following titles ; Red Orchestra 2, CSGO, Quake Live, Team Fortress 2 and Arma 3.

Each of these games offer a unique experience. What works for Quake will not work for Arma etc etc.

Thanks will tru. I used to play Red Orchestra but it also had low numbers for my region.

After the failure of ghosts I swore I would not touch the next game simply for the chance of it losing player numbers and well, spending full price for a game that had so many flaws. There's no doubt ghosts will affect cod games forever.

Me too.
Although as a game i really enjoyed ghosts. The single player was enjoyable (not great but enjoyeable) and the multi had a nice different pace to it. Was a bit slower, and stealth play paid off. For me the reason Ghostss put me off COD was the low numbers and then the fact that they still shoveled paid DLC maps instead of trying to bring players to the game with free maps.

As a publisher - i'd like to see Activision realise that large player numbers is the most important and critical thing in order for their franchise to remain relevant and start doing things like mod tools, server browsers and free maps to help promote that. They would make more money in the long run - but sadly they are too shortsighted for that.

the online experince is just poor. novices who know no better are enjoying it a bunch so maybe itll hover around same as BO2

I like the game overall, but I can't bring myself to play it 24/7 like other games, SP or MP.

AW has no real personality. It is a BO2 clone, and I am not a fan of the perks/attachment system where to use "quickdraw" you have to grind for a foregrip. QD is a perk and should remain one.

Also, even when you are in chaotic matches with people boosting all over the place, exo-nades exploding and whatnot, the game still feels static. By static I mean very sterile. Nobody talks to each other and there are no callouts because the game moves to fast for those. Plus, there are no footsteps! That has to be a bug, but I doubt it.

The biggest thing that put me off continuing to play (aside from cheaters and low online pop) was the prestige system. It's just re-grinding for gear YOU ALREADY HAVE or had. That's just stupid, IMO. Why go all the way back to square one where you will be at a severe disadvantage just for some lame emblem that says you're a veteran???

I feel ya....it seems like the only thing they tried to "revolutionalize" was the movement and character custimization and forgot that content and interesting progression is the key to longevity in a game...the only games that i have ever played that have mastered all this is the fallout series
