Advance Warfare Stutter and Lag FIX 11/01/2015 - Jamesrayne
My rig:

I7-4790 4.0ghz
Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
EVGA GTX 980 SC AX2.0 GDDR5 4.0 GB
DRAM 16 Gb DDr3 2400 Mhz

Hi all, hopefully i can help those with stutters and lag and freeze-ups in multiplayer.
After 4 reformats and multiple driver updates in 1 week, i could not fix my stutters in MP.

But, today, I turned seta r_videoMemoryScale "1" to seta r_videoMemoryScale "0" in config file and i got absolutely no more stutters and lag.. Game runs really smooth and crisp. ok heres the instruction:

1. Go to C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty Advanced Warfare\players2
2. Open the Config_mp with notepad
3. Find seta r_videoMemoryScale "1"
4. Whatever value you have, replace it by 0. Should look like that: seta r_videoMemoryScale "0"
5. Save the Config_mp
6. Reboot your computer
7.Test on recovery map preferably with at least 11 dummies in a private match.
8. If it doesnt work for you, revert back.

Hopefully this works and i wish it does from the deep of my heart. I know how frustrating it can get trying to fix something that should have been done before releasing the game by incompetent ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in an office with no notion of programming but ripping innocent gamers off by means of lies and slack.

Cheers

James

I thought having it set to 1 and 0 both do the same thing by telling it to use the maximum amount of VRAM.

By default I think it's set to 0.60.

Trust me.....change it to 0
then reboot cpu
then do a test without changing ur graphics settings
if it doesnt work u can change back to 0.60

My logic behind it: memory leak..

Regarding poor graphics, i think you need to play with ur in game graphics......right now, when u commande memory "0", it simply means, dont use any DRam, only feed from GPU....

Reboot may be needed if the game was running this session before to make sure there is no config data left in RAM. You can try and test if it works without reboot yourself, smarty.

Did this. Didn't help. Just made it Call of Duty: Playdoh Edition

I had it set to 1 before. I just set it to 0 and it seems like it hasn't done anything. Seems even worse really.

i honestly dont know how much this helps, i did it then changed all the gfx settings back to what i had it on b4 (pretty much max) and cant tell the diff, seems if you can put up with ♥♥♥♥ gfx you dont get lag or stuttering :O oh wow lol. well i hope it helps others anyway\, anything to revive the community :)

there are other threads about changing these exact settings, the only ones I personally found useful were reducing the maxPing, but you get less matches. on better connections "if there are players within the ping set range"
also changing
seta ui_browserShowDedicated "1"
seta ui_browserShowEmpty "0"
seta ui_browserShowFull "0"
helped a lot.
