I dont think that is the solution.
I had all of these stutter issues, (think it is because AMD or something) But after the update i no longer get any! Game runs smooth!
I think it is fine now as u updated the game!
or you can unlock it with the fps unlocker thats been released.
thing is i still get drops to 30fps and goes all way upto 300fps in different parts of maps inconsistant
From what i see in the update notes , there is none performance improvement . But i will try it tomorrow to see if you are correct .
Thing is that i never experienced , not one , these huge frame rate drops you are describing . I always was fixed at 90 - 91 and the stutter i am describing is something like an one second spike down to 87 - 88 , which not only looks and feels bad , but makes you lose your aim also . The same thing happens in the menu too . That's why is so stuttery . With the solution i suggested the frame rate never drops below the cap that i inserted and the stutter is all gone . I've tested it in multiple matches . SP worked fine for me , at least in the first three missions . Not a single stutter . Fluctuating frame rates , yes , stutter no . It has to be the 91 fps cap in MP .
Changes must be made within windows and/or in game as well. If that was done too, then disregard.
Other COD games use the same engine, and none of this is needed to make the game run smooth. AW is the first PC COD I've played that needs so much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with config files, vid card control panel and 3rd party bs. BLOPS2 for example, I can just start up, set my keybinds, audio stuff, video settings and get to fraggin. It just worked...my enjoyment, or not, of the game was never related to anything but the game play.
In reality, the only way the 'stutter' can truely be fixed is within the engine, or with better optimization etc.
I think a highly modified Unreal Engine 2 would be a good replacement for COD's highly modded Q3 arena engine. They both are more or less the same age. UT2k4 was built on that engine. Or Unreal Engine 3 perhaps.
From reading another post on how dedicated servers are selected, it could be that the dedi is having issues, causing stutter.. because it doesn't appear to be connection related and it's not that often (for me).
i used 1 and never got banned its outdated now tho :(
