Headset problems
Hi. I'm having some trouble getting my headset to work with this game.I have a cheap A4Tech headset which isn't specifically built for gaming and is a temporary substitute until I get a better one. Now, in other games, it does what it's built to do. The game sound is broadcasted through the headphones and it's mic picks up my voice. In Advanced warfare though, only the game sounds are broadcasted , the mic doesn't pick up my voice and the game acts like there is no headphone plugged in. My father did all the setup cause he knows computers better than I do and said something about the headset being analog not digital and it's connected to the front ports, connecting it to the back ports of my computer case won't work at all. Also, in the sound section of my control panel there is no "headphones" the speakers are selected as default but I think that's because of this being analog but I'm not sure. Only AW has this problem other games like Grid Autosport work without any problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Headphones usually appear as Speakers . Right click on it and do the test which should play through your headphones, you could also check how they are configured. I'm assuming that they are just stereo so make sure that they are configured for that.

Not sure what u mean by AW acts like there are no headphones is plugged in?
You say you can here broadcast, do you mean all sounds?
How do you know it's not picking up your voice?
Do the same with the mic make sure its enabled, do the speech recognition set up and see if that works.

In game are you using the right key to talk ?

In game voip never seems as sensitive as using Skype, Team Speak or Ventrilo.

Thanks for your reply. The test works fine, although the voice it picks up is a little near the yellow zone but my friends say they can hear me all right in other games like Grid. The game behaves like I have a headset with no microphone. Like, every in-game sound + people talking I can hear it through the headset, but no one hears me, as in there is no mic sound next to me when I talk or tap the microphone. The speech recognition thing works. The only problem is this particular game. I tried even shouting into the mic but to no avail XD

It must be something with the game. Have you set up the volume for the mic in game. Do you use push to talk. When in the game options for voice does the bar move at all when you shout/talk.

Mine hardly moves but I use TS so don't know if anyone can hear me using the game voip.

In windows is the mic showing detected as being in the front socket?

Can't think of many more ways to test it sorry.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I think it's the game. The bar doesn't move at all but the mic is showing as detected in the front socket. I'll be getting a new headset in a week so just gotta hold out 'till then. Thanks for your suggestions.
