PS4 Controller not working with Advanced Warfare?

Okay so I'm not so familiar with the whole having a controller plugged to your PC so I got my ps4 controller and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare should be working with a controller since even on the page it says "Full Controller Support"
and when I launch the game, it only gives me the option for only using a keyboard and mouse so, am I able to do anything to change that?
