BLACK SCREEN @ Startup FIX

Hi guys I decided to join in as I have found the game for sale cheap @23au

More than 6 weeks after launch and still the SP campaign starts up with a default screen refresh of 240Hz (hard to belive this is still set this way and it shows just how hard they are working to fix problems)

Simple solution navigate to where you have installed the game

Steam\SteamApps\common\Call of Duty Advanced Warfare\players2\

and edit the file config.cfg

change seta r_displayRefresh "240 Hz"
to
seta r_displayRefresh "60 Hz"

or what ever the refresh is that you use 60 being a safe default and would work with more people if not correct it will still work and enable the user to select what they want from the ingame menu rather than editing files.

I have not even played the game only tried to launch it and all your testing / feedback and its still in this state, if you want your potential customers to pay full price for your games rather than wait untill they can find it for less than a qtr of the original price maybe actualy having them working is a good idea.

Do you see any of the game at all or does it launch with only sound ?
If you see nothing but a black screen and can hear the game then the game has chosen the incorrect resoluion and or refreash rate.

and and it is called config.cfg

I have set the res to 1024x768 and the refresh @ 60Hz this should be a good safe default that should work for anyone.

I've done that, but I still get the black screen...... what else can I do???? should I try to reinstall tha game? or try diferent compatibility setings?

HELP... please.....


EDIT: i reinstalled the game, tried the setings, but still geting the blackscreen.......
it's on 60Hz, tried different resolution setings (from the highest to the lowest)....

any ideas?????

I guess you could try pressing Alt + Enter and seeing if the games will shift to window'd mode. (not sure if this game does or not but I dont have it installed to test)

Are you playing on a TV or Monitor ?

How is your screen connected VGA HDMI DVI ?

Does Windows recognise the screen or does it show up as "generic display" ?

Have you been to the manufactures webpage are thier drivers for your screen ?

Is your OS upto date maybe run Windows update and see
