Game won't launch
Hey all,

Just bought this game, downloaded it and the multiplayer. When I try to launch from steam the "Preparing to launch Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" window pops up for about a second, disappears and nothing happens, the game doesn't launch. I've verified the integrity of the files and no alarm bells or anything rang to say something was corrupted.

Could anyone give me a hand? I really don't want to have wasted 80ish dollars.

Cheers

EDIT: Hi guys! Just thought I'd let you know if any of you are having the same problem that I found a fix and the game now works for me now. I ran a dependency walker to find exactly what file was causing the probelm and found I had to replace a dll file in my system32 folder, even though it's a x64 game. Anyway, the file was xinput_3.dll and I've got a link to the one that worked for me if any of you want to try it! Just navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and paste the dll file in there and it should work! Hope it does for you :)

I'm appalled that I paid so much for this game and I can't even open it. I've been searching for a solution but so far have still found nothing.

Friend of mine had a similar problem. Clean install of graphics drivers and then reboot and she was able to load the game.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried installing the latest version of my graphics drivers (334.60 for my GTX770) but it didn't change a thing.

Had the same issue. Try browsing to the game files and move away the file "__s1Exe" (no extension) in your game directory.

I tried bOink's solution. Didn't work, but thanks for the effort. I was able to play the game when it loaded. Now it won't launch. Sucks.

I have the same issue, i've tried everything possible. I even tried uninstalling steam completely (with all my games too) and still hasnt got it launching. This game has simply wasted my money and my time :(
