Almost all of the file size is uncompressed audio, possibly with multiple languages. Same as Titanfall, which had 35 GB of uncompressed sound files. There's no need for totally uncompressed audio, it's a waste of space. Even audiophiles with thousand dollar sound systems are fine with FLAC or 320 kbps.

They want to fill up the discs on the console versions, even with junk, as a result the PC versions also end up large.

Because next gen consoles are using Bluray DVD. And Bluray can store about 40-50 GB.
It will be a new standard. So complaining about this would be useless.

It's not the new standard its becuase game develpoers are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lazy. leaving the adudio uncompressed is a way for consoles to gain a couple frames so rather then optimize their game better they just do that.

Mind-boggling.

I also read on this forum that the game has huge texture files because it supports 4K resolution.

It seem like 40GB plus games are becoming the new normal. I have Ghosts and it's about 46GB, which also includes the SP version.

I have a better Question, WHY THE ♥♥♥♥ YOU NEED 6 GB RAM TO PLAY THIS GAME?! I have 4 GB RAM AND I CAN'T PLAY IT AT LOWEST SETTINGS !!!, ITS LAGGY AND IN ANY SITUATION IT STOPS FOR 5 SEC. Nice Port and nice Performance!!! (not)

Lol 4 gigs of ram you would be lucky to run minecraft with that... You having a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible computer doesn't mean bad port.
