Dead before release
Same that happened to Puyo Puyo Tetris 2. Excessive price, no regional pricing for an online multiplayer game which genre is quite niche at the moment. Looks great but wouldn't buy until release because I can feel after a week it will be dead.

bots? I've seen that already. Nobody wants to play against bots, the entire purpose of the game is the opposite. Bandai Namco always makes this mistake with competitive games. Nothings spooks more than bots. They may do well in Asia but doesn't work in the west. Two logical choices, lower the price or F2P soon after release based on cosmetic microtransactions, or I can guarantee you it's dead game from the start. Wish I was wrong though, because I love Pac-man and this looks nice, shame greed always blinds them.

PPT2 at the very least had a story mode and plenty of endless modes to grind.

This doesn’t even have that going for it.

Listen, i'm gonna be 100% honest here... It's Pac-Man. How in gods name would you even be able to TELL you're against a bot unless they make it blatantly obvious like them being named a bot or not having cosmetics

At the end of the day, it's a game with 4 movement buttons and a power up storage button... it's not gonna be drastically different if you play with bots than it will be playing with players

Just out of curiosity, what's their option here?

$20 isn't especially high a price, though that may just be a matter of perspective. I've spent $20 on far dumber things than a game that I'll probably enjoy.

Subjective qualities aside, though, this isn't a shooter or similar genre that typically carries a wider market. Nor anything for which they could reliably say that word of mouth would cause an explosion of interest.

Making it free isn't going to change that, and I can't imagine that there is a feasible model that would earn them much in the way that they would need in that scenario. I love Pac-Man, but I also choose to be realistic that the character doesn't carry the same mass appeal as it did in the 1980s.

So, you're a corporation with shareholders, whom you do have to keep in mind at least a little. What's your business model to reduce the price? Where's the proof that it would work? And all of this without comparing it to games in a more popular genre or games from indie studios that have lower margins for success. Because remember, for an established company, making your money back plus $1 isn't enough.

Actually you can if you play in ranked match, you see each time i want to play this mode i need to wait 1 minute and 20 seconds to join a server and the players in there ALWAYS die so easily, also the movement pattern they use remind me of Pac-Man Battle Royale from Pac-Man Museum which make me top 1 every single time.

By the way when you face actual players, you can see icons of controller or monitor in their username... :SleepingGhost:

Bots don't have a platform signifier next to their name, and are always a two word name with two capital letters, such as LoneToaster. So, yes, it is always possible to tell.

Also, the bots are terrible.

Reminds me the new Super Bomberman R2 online. Dead right after the release because the high price

If it makes you feel any better, you can get the game for $4.50 CAD dollars less on certain 3rd party sellers lol. CRAZY deal.

I somewhat agree with you though, this is more like a $10 dollar game. something out of the Xbox 360 arcade marketplace. then again, they could have charged something like $40 dollars like Tetris 99. both games look fun, but they aren't THAT fun. I'll still pick this game up though. (cheapest place I found was charging $22.12 CAD.. so $16.08 USD)

If the game is using bots its dead, its a factor alright
