Mini Motor has been designed to use a NAT punchthrough system, so that no port forwarding is needed on the part of the user. So long as you are directly exposed to the internet, or are behind a NAT compatible router (as most modern routers are), and your game version is current (v1.0.09 at time of writing) you should be able to auto-match on-line. The hours with the most on-line activity are between the hours of 8:30 and 15:00 UTC-8.
The match facilitation system upon failing to find a game, automatically sets you as a host and waits for any others also trying to play on-line. These people will automatically join your server.
Alternatively, it is possible to Host and invite steam friends to join you by going Multiplayer => Host Private Game, then clicking invite beside the friend you'd like to join you.
Is there any way to see if players are joining your hosted game, and you're just waiting for a full match? The lack of feedback makes it hard to tell if the system's working at all at the moment . . .
(Great game though - tip of the hat to all of you.)
Thank you for your response.
I've tried the host a private matych option but after spending something something like 30 minutes trying to join and vice-versa and not having played a single game does't look very normal.
Anybody else?
But the rest of the game : I love it so much.
we tried verifying the game cache, and he has current version 1.09 i think?
So please, someone say something and if there are more people experiencing the same issue please confirm,
Cheers
However, i don't know if this issue still exists because at a point, a while ago both me and a friend to whom i offered the game just quit trying to play it online.
The thing is, I've tried it, and my friends couldn't join, neither thru directly envite from steam...
I guess there's no interest in fixing it, maybe there were few copies sold, i dunno but I would like to play it online.
To answer someone's question from above, the best way to know if someone is playing the game is probably to make friends with people in the community and add them to your friends list so you see when they are getting online. It sounds silly, but it might actually work.
