I need help with making music in a level

I'm making another level that will just be constant fighting (don't know how to make puzzles so I just resort to this) and I don't want the player to have to listen to either the combat music or Gustwind Palace's music the entire time (they both get grating), so I decided that I would just have to make a custom piece of music with note blocks.

I have no idea how to make something sound anything other than awful with note blocks. Could anyone help with advice?

When making music, the distance between the note blocks matter. Usual to make quarter, half and whole notes you would put 1, 2 and 4 respectfully of the same type notes blocks together. The gaps are for rest/ non slurred notes. It's best to listen to songs as examples for ideas.
