Good Concept, Too Buggy [RESOLVED]
I played the demo for about half an hour. I've been looking forward to purchasing this game during the autumn sale but it just seems like this version is too buggy at the moment. I was trying to create a dungeon, and I got softlocked because I entered through a door. For some reason, the door didn't properly link to the other door that was automatically placed, so my character got stuck inside of another room and I could not leave. I couldn't open settings, I couldn't open the editor again, I had to close out of the game entirely and lose all my progress. Again, I really would like to buy this game, I love Mario Maker on Wii U and Switch and I appreciate the studio's drive to step up and make this game when Nintendo won't. I'm just not sure that I want to spend my hard earned money on a product that has issues like mysterious softlocks that make you lose half an hour of progress. Hopefully this will be addressed!

EDIT: The issue has been fixed and I bought the game. I'd lock the thread but I don't know how. I'm pleased with what I've played since this post.

You were actually extremely unlucky lol, it was a super rare edge case for this bug to happen.
Luckily someone else found it today and reported it on our Discord!

That happened to me to on the demo months ago... But no such thing has happened in the full game yet so I'd encourage to buy it now. Plus the game has an immediate bug report button so if you encounter a bug, you can save others from having to deal with said bug. Full version has some bugs but nothing game breaking like the demo from my time with it. (plus bug fixes happen nearly daily so it's much cleaner than the demo.

This has never happened to me in the full game.

This game is also home to one of the best devs. So this game will always be playable :)

Is that so? Is the full game wildly different from the demo in any other aspects other than available content? I would really like any excuse to buy this game, but that experience in the demo just left a rather sour taste in my mouth.

Well for starters the full game has more content obviously. The dev works on the game so much, that sometimes I worry for him.

If you could help compile the steps on how you managed to get this in the first place, I could run down some tests and report it at their discord so the dev could take a good look directly (I make bug report videos and some explanations etc.).

We had a bug like this months ago and it was fixed, and haven't gotten an issue until you mention it about the exact thing we had.

Some technical aspect in the full version will always be transferred to the demo, other than content which will never be in the demo (Unless it was allowed anyway).
So whatever happened in the demo, should happen in the full version.

But don't take this the wrong way, at the least the game is still in Early Access, there's still time to ironing out some stuff and that includes fixing bugs (Everyday dev always check the bug report and quickly fix it, which is why we often getting undocumented bugfix update lol).

Oh zamn I apologize. Yea this hasn’t happened in months lol, not sure why that happened!
It would indeed be awesome if you could find a way to replicate this.
We have like dozens of players who play this game each day and it’s been a very very stable experience in recent times, so I hope I can convince you to try again!
Also, I’m not sure what progress you mean. If you mean like the sword, that is for sure part of the save game, and that is saved locally before entering a dungeon? So when you reopened the game that sword was gone?
I have demo players in the Discord and they all report that the save progress is working fine! Did you by chance play the game without being Steam being open in the background? Like, DRM free?

Do you by chance remember which version you played?
And in case you can replicate the door bug, posting a screenshot would be great!

In that case, I will be purchasing the game tonight. I'm very enthused to see that the developer community lives up to it's reputation. Thank you.
