Trapped, Unable to Progress [Spoilers] [Solved!]

I was going through the questions *Mute had for *Hyun-ae, seeing what other info *M had to say about her choices... not knowing that seems to start the end game sequence.

So the reactor is having a meltdown. I start shutting down power cores and other things. Eventually I remember there is a better battery to switch to, leaving me with core1 and core2 to have to decide over. I'm with *Mute so I shut down core2.

After that I switch over and listen to *Mute asking that something is off, and if I want her to look at something. I say yes (having no idea what was to be looked at) and she notes the situation *Hyun-ae is in and says she can save her. She asks if I'm surprised by her desire to do so despite her hate. *Mute may not like her, but she doesn't want anyone else to die on this ship.

Cool, I'm down for this.

So *Mute tells me to copy over core2 to core1 and she'd take care of the rest. However, after I do that and go back to her she has nothing new to say to me. As if I still haven't copied core2 to core1.

This is where my details get fuzzy, as I can't remember all what I did to get here and the last few plays have been just trying to rethink what I possibly forgotten to do on the Terminal.

I know there are at least 5 endings. I thought I was in the "just friends" for both AI. I had been swtiching back and forwth to get their opinions on what has happened. I was getting along great with *Hyun-ae until I told her the truth I was going to continue to talk with *Mute. *Mute has in no way been romantic, she has certainly warmed up to me. *Hyun-ae regrets what she had done and *Mute while hating her, agrees that it wasn't perfect.

I've tried to look up non-spoilers for a solution but the only ending that seems to have both AI living involves cheating and bringing up a file that I've never read before. This file is suppose to change *Mute's mind about *Hyun-ae and save her, but that's not the case here in my playthough.

Sorry for the mass of text. I am so lost right now. Am I missing somthing? Or did I glitch into an ending I should not be in? I'd like to know if I should just start over and stop trying to replay this save. Thank you for any insight.

Okay, here's the situation:

In order to get both of the AIs out alive, you must cheat. There is no way to get the "harem" end on a blind first playthough, as it requires you to know the ID of a specific file. This file can only be accessed after finishing the reactor sequence with *Hyun-ae, but, in order to get the ending with both AIs, you must show that file to *Mute. Obviously, this is impossible, so you must know the code beforehand and show it to *Mute using the document finder. This also requires you to have copied *Hyun-ae onto *Mute's core rather than disabling the former core outright. It's supposed to be a secret "bonus" ending, not a canon option.

That said, I have no recollection of the conversation you talk about.

In my playthroughs, she just continues on until I show her the document, not mentioning *Hyun-ae. So you definitely did something different, but that shouldn't be blocking you. If I understand, though, you have stabilized the reactor and have *Mute as the active AI. If this is the case, you should be able to complete the game with her by continuing to read documents as normal. Make sure you've showed her everything you can, etc.

There is a romantic ending and a non-romantic ending for *Hyun, and a single neutral ending for *Mute, as she doesn't express strong feelings for you, ever (especially if you're playing as a woman). There is also the harem end (both AIs) and a no-AI end if you use the download command at any point before one of them tells you to. The sixth "bad" end is to let the reactor explode.

The harem end assumes romantce with both AIs, that's not a thing you can avoid. For *Mute, as I said, she's not too into you but will be considered to be in a romantic relationship with you in Hate+. At the beginning, at least, but no spoilers here :P There is no "just friends" option except with a Hyun-ae only ending.

This is my (basically) first playthough... I gave myself the bad end by downloading in the midst of a meltdown in frustration/desperation trying to find some way to continue.

I wasn't able to show everything to either *Mute or *Hyun-ae. Once the meltdown started if I tried to look at any documents *Mute would get mad at me and tell me to work on the immediate problem. Even after I turned off the reactor this was still the case. Is the screen still suppose to be fuzzy after you turn off the reactor?

From what you have told me, I'm now under the impression that I can't continue the game I'm in because I haven't done the other endings to 'unlock' the continuation of this one.

Since you haven't seen that conversation, I got screenshots of it. I haven't really ever messed with Steam's screenshot stuff, so I apologize if it's not in the best presentation.

Ah, I see your problem. You haven't fixed the reactor yet - turning it off isn't enough. The screen will stop being fuzzy when it's fully fixed. I'll not post spoilers here in case you want to figure it out on your own, but there is a guide available if you get frustrated.

That's why I hadn't seen that conversation, I'd never tried to talk to her before fixing the reactor. At some point she has some ideas for what to do, but I forget exactly what I did to trigger them.
