Possibly Using Grok 3 + Deep Search To Update ORBATS?
If BG has the resources to pay $40 a month for Grok 3 (soon you will get 10 free queries a day so you might want to have alt accounts ready for it), it would be interesting and easy to update country unit files using it. It would, obviously, need to be briefed on what determines a "unit" in the game vs just spitting out 1142 leopard tanks as the "updated" number.

*edit: from my understanding of the game, land units are brigade level so you can just tell the AI that.

I think this AI can be used for other things too such as region relationships, treaties, etc. Update could potentially be pushed out faster using this state of the art AI.

UPDATE:

Here Grok tries to make the Saudi Arabian orbat file for 2023 more accurate, though I forgot to tell it to specify to strictly 2023 numbers. (I did this query without search since I only get 2 per day.)

We have actually looked briefly at using AI as a way that could help modders work with complex files like the events file, and yes using it as a tool for the equipment list is another possibility. Early results have been a bit mixed, but I have not looked at Grok 3 and some of the newest models yet.

We'll take a look at the link you sent. It's an interesting option to help add and update content in the game if it can be cross checked and verified. Not top of our list at the moment but worth keeping an eye on.

Took a quick look at your example - not sure if it's accurate, but it makes a convincing case !

As of today, DeepSearch is not capable at 100% following directions but it seems the numbers from just regular Grok 3 is accurate

Working on SR36 Soviet Union. One thing I learnt is to not give it txt files and just copy-paste. I also have a prompt for it if anyone wants to give it a go:

(INSTRUCTIONS: TAKE THE FOLLOWING ORBAT FILE FOR SOVIET UNION IN JUNE 1 1941 FOR THE GAME SUPREME RULER 1941 AND UPDATE ANY QUANTITY/EQUIPMENT VALUES TO MAKE IT MORE ACCURATE TO REAL LIFE RESERVES/DEPLOYED (FOR STRICTLY JUNE 1, 1941) FOR EACH UNIT, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO ADD EQUIPMENT NOT LISTED (DONT WORRY ABOUT ITS LEFT-SIDE NUMBER), THE VALUES GIVEN ARE WHAT YOU NEED TO BASE YOUR UPDATED CSV ON. LOW QUALITY UNITS ARE GENERAL UNITS TO BE ACCURATE WITH MANPOWER, ETC. SINCE NOT ALL UNITS GET TO RIDE A TRUCK, FOR EXAMPLE. LAND UNITS ARE TYPICALLY DIVIDED IN REAL-LIFE BRIGADES WHILE AIRCRAFT ARE SPECIFIC QUANTITES DIVIDED BY 12. MAKE SURE TO FORMAT IN A WAY TO BE ABLE TO BE CONVERTED BACK INTO CSV. ONLY PROVIDE THE ORBAT FILE AND DONT ADD COMMENTS
Explain afterwards what changes you made from before and after and why and then give the total # of units from before and after)

It would need some tweaking for some unit locations (pacific fleet in tanu tuva) but it did a great job. I will try with my Nigerian one next
