Other scenario
Hello! I have the following question: Will companies/scenarios/sand games from other times be added to the game? In SRU, my favorite scenario is 1949 and I would really like to see it here with the new mechanics. This is my favorite scenario, because I like this path of technological transition.

We recently announced that we will be adding more eras into SR 2030 as optional DLCs. They will be done as "remastered" versions, meaning mostly the same content, so we can keep the price reasonable and relatively short development times. Supreme Ruler The Great War will be the first of these, its store page is already up.

What does this mean exactly? I see two titles for Great War Remastered to be released next week - one required SR2030 and the other looks like a stand-alone product. Will the remaster version be exactly the same as the original game but with upgrades and contain all the historic units that were in the original game? What do you need to own in order to buy a remaster version of the prior game?

You've pretty much figured it out.

The DLC and stand alone versions will be released on the same day. If you buy one, both are added to your library. The DLC version sells for less, but even the stand alone version will be at a low price point since the design decision was for a remastered version, not a whole new game. You'll find the same campaigns and sandboxes from SRGW, but we've done a bit of house cleaning, tweaked a bit to take advantage of the updated engine. For example, the old tutorial for the game is now just a scenario players can play and we've provided a totally new set of 4 tutorial chapters built just like the new tutorials in SR2030.

If you check out the SR Great War Remastered Steam store page, we've put up the full description including an animated GIF showing an old vs. new sample image. The overall idea is to bring the SRGW experience into the new engine so it will benefit from ongoing development.

Another thing players will be offered is an Seasons Pass (or Expansion Pass, whatever it's being called these days) where for $15USD, players can pay to get the future remastered versions we publish, of which we're guaranteeing at least 3 (so $5 each). We're into final testing on Great War Remastered and we've already started a bit of the work on another remastered SR title.

We had posted about this in one of our YouTube videos as well;

Hope that all makes sense :)

Thanks Chris, glad you guys decided give the option to still sell upgraded versions of the old games so people don't have to buy 2030 if not interested in it.

Already got new scenarios in production currently in the pre-alpha content making phase. This will include new leaders, new units, new events, new states within countries and new starts currently focused on 1910, 1933 and 1948. Currently 1948 is in priority with 1910 leader content being produced in colour. 1948 will start off focused on things like the Berlin Blockade, the Arab-Israel War of 1948 and Chinese Civil War. Further on content such as the Congo War will be added. Completely new not the base game Cold War.
