And the bestiary?
Hi,

I have bought some books about monsters, to have info about them, but they do not say the weakness of monsters, like if they are weak by silver or steel, those kind of things like in Witcher 1. All I have is a monster description, sometimes a funny description, but nothing more. So I wonder if those books worth the money...

So, how to know how to fight a monster?

Thanks

All monster are weak against silver, and very few of them (if any, unless it's a quest) have a special way that they need to be killed.

So no such thing as specter oil or so? :) So silver against all monsters, and steel against humanoids and animals? So a giant arachnid, is it a monster or an animal?

And then... no need to buy any book about monsters?

Anything that isn't human needs a silver sword, or you'll be doing next to no damage. There are oils, but they aren't required - they just provide bonus damage or other effects against Humans and Monsters.

Near no damage? Before I got the silver sword I did not that bad against starting monsters ;) Sure I had to run a lot, and use signs, but... :)

It's much easier if you have silver, especially on higher difficulties.

I play on normal difficulty with the Full Combat Rebalance mod. I wonder if someone play with the highest difficulty, where death means end of game ;) This means no save game?

If you mean insane mode then it is permadeath. You can save, but once you die you can not load that game anymore.
