Someone please explain the witcher mini-map to me
I don't understand what the red markers represent. Are they enemies, points of interest, items? I'm currently in chapter 2 and while messing around in the harpy quarry there are a bunch of red dots on my mini-map but nothing to interact with. For a second I thought maybe they were the boulders that light up when I use my medallion, but then I found another boulder that doesn't have a corresponding map marker.

If anyone could enlighten me that would be great.

the same happens to me. i believe its enemies that were there, but you killed, and their dot just never went away. i only ever get those in areas where i am fighting i.e. the harpy quarry or nekker nests in act 1. nothing to worry about, just a nuisance when you think enemies are there

Yeah I was worried that was the case. Add that to the map markers that are in the wrong place and the mini-map is almost completely useless. I hope W3 fixes these problems or navigating an open world will suck.
i agree that a good mini map will be needed to naviagte a world like skyrim; large and vast. though for the witcher 2, with its hub world style, i would prefer very specific direction instead of a map marker

Yeah I agree, I think the entire quest tracking system with the journal and the mini-map need some help. It's pretty annoying when a quest gives you the option of two directions but to see one of the directions on the map, you have to turn off your current quest and turn on another.
