WItcher 2 Sensitivity/Mouse makes game Unplayable
I bought Witcher2 because it was on the flash sale, and I heard it was an awesome game and I cant get it on ps3. I loaded up and immediately noticed that the mouse was very sluggish and lagged behind the actual movement ( this was the menu screen). I get into the game and Change the sensitivity lower and it does not help. The camera is WAY too fast, and even when fighting the mechanics and mouse sensitivity seem way off... Is anyone else having this issue, or does it just take time getting used to? I have a great laptop that has a geforce GTX 560m, i7 processor, and 8GB RAM, so I know my laptop is not the issue.

Nope. Game plays great. No issues with any input/mouse lag. Can fire daggers in the middle of combat accurately.

Try disabling mouse acceleration in windows or in game if you have it selected. Also, lower the graphics, it may just be lag.

You could try disabling Vsync. It should help with the slow movement in the menus, though I don't know if it will solve your mouse problems with combat.

I don't think your problem is mouse sensitivity. I think your graphic settings are too high. The 560M should be good enough to run it so play around with the settings. Check out the PCgamingwiki page on Witcher 2 for tips on optimization.

Thought so, too. But you can try to play it with a gamepad. That makes it much better (for me it does :) ).

The game is graphically demanding. Between you setting the graphics too high and V sync causing input lag, you're creating your own monster. Others have already said it, but drop those settings.
If I were you I would shut off V sync, turn on whatever framerate monitoring you have, and fiddle away.
You can drop the textures and shadows firstly. Don't turn on ubersampling. Use normal depth of field not cinematic. Reduce the dangling object physics. I'm doing this from memory, but there's a lot of options and this game looks amazing even with half of them shut off.

After that, you go and enjoy one of the greatest RPG titles created in the last EVER.
One of my favorite games, and I hope it becomes one of yours as well.

same problem you are having dude. brought it during steam sale last week, and the game is un-playable due to the mouse-lag. my rig can run far cry3, L4D1, L4D2 with no performance problem. tried runnning the game in the lowest spec didnt help. what is wrong with this game?

any other ideas?

Yes when you start the game there is an "options menu" hit advanced and click auto detect best settings.. I have high end gaming rig as well and it couldnt handle medium-high settings, disable v-sync and reduce the settings and disable all the "eye-candy" settings like Blur effects, light shafts, etc... The game looks beautiful even on lower settings, ever since i did this the game play and everything ahs drastically improved and im well over 10 hours into the game, hope this helps.

Funny story, I did auto-detect on my rig, and it said I could only play on medium. However, if i bump it up to ultra, I only lose about 5 FPS. a little choppy, which I can't stand, so I just set it to a near ultra high, and the game runs perfectly. Even with auto-detect, I'd still fiddle with the settings a bit, the auto-detect isn't perfect.

Could anybody tell me where can I find V-sync if I have ATI Radeon video card? Pretty obvius all of you, because you guy's using nvidia viedeo card.
Firering daggers also problem, take too much time to aiming, arm wrestling, is impossible and no matter if my resulotion is 640x480 or higher. Oh, yes, everything is of at the settings, and taken down to minimum the rest.

Are you running the game on Windows 8?

windows 7 And actually, I can't play trough the Kayran mission because the mouse too fast or too slow for look around, but when I had to change the sign on the wheel or make it fast the QTE (marked easy QTE already ) can't perform in time. How can I switch of the DRM?
What shall I do? Buy a consol to my pc or what? I think the guy's messed up the whole pc platform and mixed with the consol version.

It may have nothing to do with your mouse.

I had similiar issues when I first tried to run the game with my old Graphics card (Radeon HD 6670). I turned the resolution way way way down to test things, and the mouse response was fine. When I finally got a newer Graphics Card (GeForce GTX 760) It ran fine - although I still need to keep ubersampling off.

P.S. Also IIRC the tutorial level had a worse response than when I started the game propper - don't know if that might have been water effects, or night/moonlight effects, or something else.
