Can my new PC run The Witcher 2?
Hi Everyone. I've been dying to play the witcher 2 since its release. However, I feared my machine would be incapable of running it. That PC recently met its end and my family ordered a brand new, seemingly high-end PC. I think the new machine should be able to run it, but I wanted to make sure, and get a good idea of how well I should be able to run the game and on what settings, because I'm only vaguely familiar with all of the gaming pc lingo. Here are my specs; I would love a general idea of how well I can run the game. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Cyberpower Black Pearl
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-3820 Quad-Core 3.60 GHz 10MB Intel Smart Cache LGA2011
MEMORY: 16GB (4GBx4) DDR3/1600MHz Quad Channel Memory
MOTHERBOARD: * (4-Way SLI/CrossFireX Support) GIGABYTE X79-UP4 Intel X79 Chipset Quad Channel DDR3 ATX Mainboard w/ Ultra Durable 5, 7.1 HD Audio, GbLAN, 4 Gen3 PCIe x16, 2 PCIe x1 & 1 PCI
VIDEO: AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB 16X PCIe 3.0 Video Card

Let me know if I left out any important info. Thanks!

I don't remember exactly what Fraps told me, but with everything maxed out - aside from Ubersampling - I think I got somewhere around 40-50 fps with my 7950. Ubersampling puts it sub-30.

Great, thanks!

That is more than enough to play the game. My Graphics Card is an AMD Radeon 7870 XT and it works perfectly fine on that.

Is this a serious question? Those specs are going to cream the game. I'm getting 50+fps with max(no ubersampling) on a HD6970 :gordon:

I have Intel Core i5-3210m and Geforce GT 635m 2gb Graphic card and i play on ultra settings so i think you will play this game on 50+ fps :)

Thanks everybody. I had no idea I was getting such a great machine... too bad it takes weeks to get here. Thanks again!

Mind me asking how much it cost?

I've an i5 2500, 560 Ti, 8GB Vengeance RAM, and a nice Gigabyte z68-ud3p motherboard, and it runs fine. Not sure of the frames, and it's not max, but it looks damn gorgeous, but it runs very well at 1920*1200
That, by the way would be a great machine for streaming gameplay footage of any current game at 1080p, provided your internet is up to the task. You should use Dxtory btw, instead of FRAPS, it's less resource-hungry

a gt635m playing it smoothly on Ultra? not unless you are playing at some super silly low resolution. even something like a modest lower end card from 3 years ago like gts450 would blow that gpu away.

Sadly, that site does not work quite well. Although it mark that I can run the game i have to suffer high lag and finally have to force some settings to make it run smoothly.

Thanks so much for the suggestion Sinbad. I will definitely consider it.

Sorry for the late response Hail. We ordered the pc from cyberpower around the 4 of july, and were able to get discounts on a few items (though I don't think on any of the items listed above). We also got a small discount code online (just by googling cyberpower black pearl discount), and it came out to i think about $1,380.
