Pc controller doesnt work with Witcher 2

I tried using pc controller but the game doesnt recognise it. The controller option is not showing up. I dont like playing on keyboard. What should I do? Does anyone have the same problem?

Ok guys never mind foound the solution :] For anyone having the same issue follow those steps :
- download this program :

- put x360ce.exe into the witcher 2/bin
- run it inside it will create some files
- ENJOY;)

Maybe its just your controller then...however thare are more emulators than just xbox360ce

Personally I dont use them xbox360ce works for me, but there are a number which I found when trying to fix an issue with another game...Google is your friend. Another one off the top of my head is Virtual Controller, but there are a few.

I finished this game last year. I decided to play again now, but the control stopped working. Not even using the x360ce, not even the Big Screen.

Was there any update during this period?

Nope it has not been updated in years.

There have been steam updates that seem to affect controllers, check the settings there.

If x360ce doesn't work for some of you game, you could use XOutput instead, actually i would suggest you using it with all the game, cuz' you just have to launch it when you launch the game, and you don't have put any files of it in the game you want to play!

I meant no game updates. Why Steam would take over a controller over a game is bonkers, but apparently it happens.

Go to Steam>settings>controller>general controller settings.
Uncheck everything. Does that solve it?

Someone else solved it by

"Close the game and check if the Xbox Controller Support option is enabled in Big Picture Mode > Settings > Controller Settings. When choosing a controller configuration, try choosing a gamepad config from the Templates menu and launching the game again."

The way I enabled the template was:
Settings>Base Configurations>Steam Button Chord Configuration>Templates
Any of the "Gamepad" templates seem to work but you can find one that specifically says it is for the Xbox 360 by pressing the "Y" key on that menu.
