Problems w/ Map & Inventory

I'm still in the Prologue, but am having a few issues.

1) When I look at the world map, should the countries really be in Polish instead of English?
2) Sometimes, inside buildings, the map shows absolutely nothing (though at least the mini-map works). Is that intentional? They could at least say something like "Map not available".
3) I imported a save game from Witcher 1, and some of my items made it through. That's the good news. The bad? For no apparent reason, I'll be playing, switch into my inventory to check on something, and find the stupid game has swapped me back to crappy weapons & armor. This has happened numerous times and is driving me batty, for obvious reasons.

Anyone have comments or suggestions?

I appreciate the link, man. That explains the map; a design choice. Ok, I can live w/ that. Though they didn't do that for Witcher 1. And I still have no clue on #2 above.

I forgot to mention a

4) related to 3), when I put things in my quick slots, they don't stay there very long before being dumped back into my regular inventory.
