Oh well. Inputting the fixes detailed there, wish me luck. And kudos, for the find.
EDIT: Huzzah on toast! While I'm admittedly now having issues with the Launcher itself, at least it's no longer getting stuck in the installation process. PROGRESS!
EDIT 2: Disregard much of the above statement. Game gets up and running quickly enough, and I make it to the main-screen without a hitch. On that note, this was by far one of the best Opening Cinimatics I've ever seen to a video game.

Is it normal every time you install .NET Framework?

this game is so hard to even start!
it just goes on a random "first time installing 1.....2...." then it closes.aha.so i click on "launch game"..then it does the same.
I WANT TO PLAY MY GAME!!!!
im gonna go and uninstall this game until they patch it.

Im pretty sure you can also Download The Witcher 2 from the GOG.com Website. You'll need to register and all that fun stuff. But it basically fixed all the startup problems I've been having.
I understand some may not like this method. But to each his own
