Is it worth restarting with the Full Combat Rebalance?
I am not that far into The Witcher 2 but I feel like if I restart with the combat rebalance mod it might help my enjoyment of the game. Can anyone who has used the mod let me know if it is significant enough to warrent the install?

Last time i used it it had some bugs to it, i don't know if it's still the case i didn't followed the news lately but for the changes themselves, it had some interesting twists, for example "parry" become automated and instead of manually parry you instead cast an "active Quen", it's interesting but i really didn't felt like it was a benefit, in the end i missed the old parry system.

The mod (last time i used it) also change the armors, this however wasn't something i liked, it basically removed a lot of stats from armors for no apparent reason (in my opinion).

Good point is the animations, Geralt become really agile and use lots of good animations whtch make the combat seems to be more fluid (i don't know if it really is, but it is the impression i got, which is good).

In the end i don't find to mod to be particularly usefull, add a bunch of fancy stuff but also make changes that i don't nessessairly like but i guess it is mosly due to the fact that i have no problem at all with the original combat, in fact i really like it so, yeah... From what i heard however: for the people who didn't liked the original combat, the mod seemed to help.

Also sorry for my english, meh...

The mod broke the game for me, because the guy who made it is a frigging nob. If you go through the tutorial with the mod, its screws the game, and you'll start with -15 tallents. Nowhere does he say not to play the tutorial. 7+ hours into the game i got tired of having - talents so i searched it up. Dropped the game, because there's no way in hell I'm replaying all that.

The bug with tutorial got fixed in the first week after the mod was out. Also, NeonSaber, I wouldn't call a Witcher developer a noob... because it was an actual developer who designed FCR2.

As for the mod itself, I simply couldn't play without it. It makes combat so much more responsive and enjoyable that beating the game without it proved to be impossible for me. With it, however, I finished the game on Insane difficulty while enjoying everything it had to offer - perfect balance and smoothness of battle.

I highly recommend using the mod - it will save you a LOT of effort and, IMO, will leave a better impression of the game as a whole. I confirm that the game is completely beatable with it, and there shouldn't be any major game-breaking bugs by now (I actually used the very first version of the mod that had some bugs in it, and I still finished the game without problems).

I never tried FCR2 because I had bad impression of Flash from FCR1 for TW1 which was a giant mess that tried to change the game mechanics with stats alone and it didn't really fit with the flow of the game. FCR2 sounds like a better effort with new animations and such, but it really didn't matter since I logged 100 hours and all the achievement including Madman and all without some mod.

.

Obviously not, as I've downloaded the latest version of the mod and encountered the bug.
And I meant nob, he is a nob/knob
