Crafted Items Not Appearing in Inventory

I recently tried to craft a chest piece and it did not appear in my inventory. I went back 2 autosaves prior to attempting to craft the item, loaded the game and the materials were missing like I had crafted the item! For such a great game it sure feels like a buggy mess :\

It seems that any save I load is still missing the materials. Even if I load a save prior to when I recieved the recipe to create the item that did not appear in my inventory!

Any idea what the deal is?

Did you install any mods? Are you sure that at the crafting screen you are trying to craft the right item? Unless you installed a mod, I'm not convinced that reloading old saves wouldn't bring back the ingredients, assuming you reloaded to an appropriate time; that sounds quite improbable.

When I first started playing I thought somethings were missing from my inventory, but then I realised the inventory box wasn't as big/tall as I thought it was and I just needed to scroll down...yes, I am a bit thick. I had no issues with missing items and I have just spent the last 2 weeks playing the game from start to finish. Also, make sure you are sorting items by alphabetical order, so you can find it easily as you scroll down.

You need to first select what you craft (different button than to actually craft). If you just scroll on it, and click "Craft", it crafts what you may have selected looong time ago - so totally something else than you wanted.

Well, I’m convinced because it just happened to me too. I tried to craft a Jagged Blade with the Elven guy and got the pop up saying it had been crafted. However, after inspecting my inventory it is no where to be found with the materials and money gone too. I thought maybe it was because my inventory was almost full and would mean I’m over the limit so I checked my stash and still nothing.

UPDATE: It seems to have worked after I made space in my inventory and went to a different smithy.
