Think of TW1 as an introduction to the Witchers' world. You won't miss a lot if you didn't play TW1 - just a few references here and there. But I still suggest that you play the 1st one regardless so you can experience the evolution of the games.
Thanks big-time!
Thanks so much!
Thanks, & for taking the time!
W2 is chapter 2 of a trilogy, after all. More importantly, the reasons behind Geralt's loss of memory at the beginning of W1 (not a spoiler, the game starts exactly on that topic!) are an important part of the character evolution that will carry over even to Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. And I made a specific choice in W1 that I am sure is going to be covered in W3! And thanks to my W1 save game Geralt referred to it in W2 as well.
All in all, it's not absolutely necessary to play W1 to enjoy W2 but if you do play it you are going to have a fully immersive and customized experience into the Witcher's world so far. The extra starting loot is also a plus that might help!
It's a great game. Enjoy!
Wow its' a little more involved than I would have originally thought or emagined. Thanks big-time for taking the time to write this info for me and maybe others down the road as well!
Noted and thank you as well!
