Unable to upgrade attributes (resolved)

I will have talents but I can not use them to upgrade any attributes. Anybody else have this problem and how did you resolve it?

You have to put the first few levels worth of points into the top tree called "Witcher training" tree, or something like it. After around level 8, you can put them into the other areas, but it is a skill 'tree' so you have to put them into the inner-most skills first.

I figured it out. Whenever I was looking at the character attributes I just pressed 'C' which only allows you to view them. However you have to use the meditate pathway in order to apply the upgrades.

The default C menu should allow you to apply the upgrades as well. You are probably using a mod that modifies the skill tree.

On my first run through, I played the game un modded and I was always able to use my skills with the C menu. On my second run on a modded game, I was no longer able to use the C menu. I had to go into the meditation menu like you did.

It's a difficulty thing. On easy or normal, you can upgrade your skills whenever you want. On hard/insane you have to meditate.

Oh so thats what it was. My first run was done on normal and now Im redoing it on hard. Now it makes sense.
