To solve this issue:
1) delete "base_scripts" in the "Cooked PC" folder.
2) on steam, verify the game to get the vanilla "base_scripts"
3) get into the game and go to a merchant to craft it (instead of checking the blueprint in the item menu), save the game.
4) reinstall the mod version of "base_scripts"
Incidentally, because this game has save issues, DO NOT turn on the steam cloud sync until you finish the very last bit of the game.
You turn it on only to upload your perfect save files but not during your playthrough.
-------
Furthermore, because that save issue is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, I will put more details:
The basic issue is that, whether the cloud is on or off, when there are too many save files, the game will crash.
Case 1, if the steam cloud is off:
Then all you need to do is go to the folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\125578596\20920" and delete the unneeded files from time to time. In the end, with all the perfect save files, you could still turn on the cloud and upload them.
Case 2, if the steam cloud is on:
Then you could turn off the cloud and go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\125578596\20920" . So that you can delete unwantted/unneeded files on windows all at once. But then, you can't upload a new file to cloud. Also, while the cloud is on, deleting fille in that folder will signal the steam to download those files on the cloud. So that, in the end, the solution is to delete those files one by one in the game, and the game will crash after deleting about 10 files --- even steam itself will crash. It took me an hour or two fixing this.
