Yennifer confusion

Okay I'm confused with Yennifer and the wild hunt. why did they take her? when was she with Garalt ever? explain who she is, where she came from! wtf?

I'm somewhat confused too, but Yennifer and geralt were real real lovers, and Ciri a young girl with special powers, that was like a daughter to Geralt, left geralt and yenni, with a special island where they would have all the sex they wanted, until the hunt came and took yennifer, when yennifer was taken Geralt went on a long ass quest to find her, and how he he got pitchforked, well, I'm not sure if it was either yennifer or ciri that try's to revive him, but they surely both die according to everyone there, and basically are taken away, then Geralt wakes up again back in his old school khaer morhen and that's where the game starts, wtih witcher 1, and when witcher 2 ends, I think the quest to find Yenni begins again, so (witcher 3)

BUT, I think when geralt Goes to Rivia, and gets stabbed in the uprising, is the place where Geralt find yennifer with the wraiths of the Hunt, because it had to be yennifer that tries to revive him, but she dies in the proccess, then again, she appareantly has amnesia too according to Letho, and where she is, well, if you let Scila not die, she will give you her location where you will continue in Witcher 3.

I've read almost all the books (just not the most resent one season of storms) so i can tell you in detail who yennefer is. Geralt first met Yennefer when trying to save his friend Dandilion after being attacked by a djinn that appeared after dandilion rubbed a magic emblem/bottle/something. Yennefer heals dandilion and tries to capture the djinn. The djinn is messing yennefer up and geralt wants to save her life. To make a long story short geralt realises that she wont be able to capture the djinn because it hasnt granted a 3rd and final wish to geralt (geralt didnt know that the djinn was granting his wishes till this time) so he wished for Yennefer to love him or sleep with him (his last wish is not disclosed in the book it is only implied) so the djinn once released from its contract wouldnt kill yennefer because then geralts wish couldnt be ful-filled also it should be noted that Geralt actually liked Yennefer alot when he wished for this wish it wasnt some random thing. So after that Yennefer and Geralt become madly in love but Geralt and Yennefer have constant fallings out and sleep with other people. The most notable falling out being when she wants geralt to kill a gold dragon so she can sell it so she can become fertile (she is sterile (almost all sorceres are) and really wants to have a kid) but geralt refuses and they get in a fight but make up in two seconds.

Now that is how Geralt met Yennefer so now i will go into detail about who Yennefer is. Yennefer is part elf (like 1/8 or 1/4) and the rest human (the elf part really has no effect in the story im just inlcuding it to be punctual also she doesnt look like an elf). Yennefer is a extremely powerful sorcerer with an attitude, black curly hair, violet eyes and she is suposed to be extremely hot. She was born to some highborns but she was born a hunchback and was disowned by her father. After being constantlyy scolded by her father she made an attempt on her own life and nearly died. She was saved by Tissania De Vries an extremely strong sorceress. After being saved by Tissania, Yennefer was taught magic at Thanned Island (someone in her family, i believe the elven part of her family made her pre-disposed to use magic). Not much is told after this part so i will just start on her occupation and what she wears and stuff. Yennefer was basically someone who performs abortions and gave stuff to people to make them get pregnant (this is extremyl ironic becaue yennefer really wants to have a baby but cannot). Being that only rich people could afford thing of that nature Yennefer is extremely wealthy and wears diamonds and stuff. Yennfer always wears a black dress and a perfume of lilac and Gooseberrys and she always has a necklace of an obsidian star with diamonds at the points.

So now onto the Wild Hunt. The wild hunt is a bunch of Elves called the Aen Elle. The Aen Elle are invaders and they go to worlds and take them over, however they lost the power to travel from world to world except for the worlds in which they live and the world in which Geralt and Yennefer live. It is revealed in the books that the world the Aen Elle currently live on was originaly inhabited by humans but the elves killed and enslaved them. The Aen Elle want to regain the power to travel between multiple worlds so they can continue doing that. To regain that power they need a child of elder blood, Ciri (a human girl that is connected to geralt and yennefer, i'll get to that in a little). Just as a side note the "king" of the wild hunt is an elf named Eredin. He is not the king of the Aen Elle but he is the commander of the Army.

So now onto who this Ciri is and why she is important and how she links with yennefer. Ciri's great great great grandmother was an elf with elder blood named Lara Dorren. Lara Dorren was an elf who banged a human which ultimately lead to humans killing her but not before having a baby and telling a prophecy of a bunch of bad ♥♥♥♥ happening (the illithane prophecy). This baby had the elder blood gene which was passed down for generations however the gene was not activated it was just dormant until some unknown incest happened among Lara Dorren's grand-children which activated the gene in Ciri's grandmother, calanthe, and was passed down to Ciri. Ciri's mom and grandmother died leaving only Ciri with the activated elder blood gene.

So now to how geralt know ciri (i know it sounds like i am digressing but this all links up to yennefer). Geralt helped the queen of cintra, calanthe ,ciri's grandmother, resolve a conflict of some knight coming into her castle and demanding to wed calanthes daughter pavetta. Well a bunch of stuff you didnt ask about occured and the conflict is resolved and Pavetta and the knight promise to give their child to geralt when he returns for her in 6(?) years. The child is ciri. To make a long story short a bunch of stuff happens i.e. cintra gets messed up and all of Ciris relavtives die and Geralt gets Ciri in some crazy way and takes her to Kaer Morhen to become a witcher.

Now onto Yennefer and ciri. In Kaer Mohren ciri has prophetic visions. The witchers dont know what to do so they get Triss Merigold to come and help but triss sucks (not really but i dont want to explain everything) so they get Yennefer to help. Yennefer takes ciri and becomes a mother figure and teaches ciri how to cast magic (since Lara Dorren was an elf sorcerer ciri has magic in her blood) They bond a bunch and start to call eachother mother and daughter.

So onto the wild hunt and Yennefer Geralt and Ciri. The wild hunt as previously stated wants Ciri so they can teleport around and kill people and generally have a good time. So you remember in the story how geralt gets stabbed in the chest by a pitchfork while protecting dwarves from a rascit mob in Rivia? Well ciri was there with yennefer when it happened. Geralt is about to die when a unicorn comes through a portal (similar to what the wild hunt wants to be able to do again... I know it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ random that unicorns have the power to travel from world to world just like the people with elder blood can do). The unicorn is a frend of ciri so it saves geralts life then ciri opens one of those crazy elder blood portals and teleports Geralt, yennefer and herself to some super isolated place where geralt can heal. Now that is where the books end and where the games pick up.

So now this is all the non-canon video game stuff. Geralt and Yennefer are all happy and stuff because they are together but Ciri wants to explore the world and stuff so she leaves them to bang and what have you. While ciri is gone the wild hunt finds geralt and yennefer and capture them to try and lure ciri out so they can capture her and get that precious elder blood (they actually dont want her blood per se they more so want to rape her so she can have a elf baby so they can control it.)

Now i believe that answers your question of who Yennfer is and all that other stuff you asked and then some. In the books a bunch and i mean a bunch of other stuff happened so i'd recommend reading them but as far as knowing the stuff you need to know for the witcher videogames i basically covered it all i think.
