Is that clear now?
" Before you buy this game, take this warning: it ONLY supports the XBox 360 gamepad via USB (with Tattiebogle driver). You shall NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, EVER try to play it with a PS3 Sixaxis controller. Don't even think about it.
TW2 can only recognize the direction and camera-angle inputs from analog joysticks on PS3 Sixaxis controller. All the other buttons, including the Start and Select buttons, are not functional. And TW2 will disable all keyboard events when switched to controller mode, including the ESC key, and all the OS-level function hot-keys. Even the Option-Command-ESC is disabled.
This "feature" will forbid you from tweaking the gamepad events with 3rd party utilities like ControllerMate or GamePad Companion. And the worst part is: you can still use mouse cursor to start the game. But after you entered, you CAN NOT save, load, even quit, since the ESC key is disabled, and the Start button on the PS3 controller is not functional.
If you happened to get yourself into this fall trap, the only way to quit this game is switching off the machine. "
This is exactly the problem. The game, however, is labeled as "full controller support". If you're on a Mac and you want to use the PS3 Gamepad don't believe the label, it's a trap. It would be good to know that beforehand. How can I ask for a refund?
Thanks,
For the bastard guy, Microsoft never created drivers for that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gamepad, in fact Dual Shock 3 and 4 is officially supported on Macos, you don't need install a driver.
The tattiebogle driver is needed on OSX, because without it, there is no support for the XBOX 360 controller at all. The XBOX 360 controller is not a standard HID device, and does not function without a driver. It is the same on Linux, where xboxdrv/xpad is needed. Naturally, Windows has such a driver.
As for PS3 pads, i'm not really sure why these dont work, as far as I'm aware they are standard HID devices and should work.
The "official" gamepad for this game is actually the XBOX 360 pad - the Windows version uses XInput which is specific to the XBOX 360 pad. Whoever has said the PS3 pad is the official pad is incorrect. The Witcher 2 was never released on PS3.
It's really annoying that there isn't support for multiple controllers on the different platforms. Not everyone is going to use Xbox controllers on windows... Witcher 2 is available on Mac and PS3 controller links up via Bluetooth, why does this have to be so difficult.
I,m not buy any CD Projekt RED game, game run slow!!!! very slow in any configuration!!! ps3 controller not support! why you sell this trash port? for what?
Uber! power bad port!
Waste money!
You say that PS3 gamepads are not officially supported on OSX *at all*. I suppose you mean that for your game only, otherwise all the times I've played my other games with my PS3 gamepad on my iMac were but a figment of my imagination. It even read "PS3 Controller" on my Bluetooth Preferences but hey, I must have been daydreaming.
That said, if you are not sure if PS3 Gamepads work with your game then why the ♥♥♥♥ do you sell it on Steam with "Full Controller Support" written all over it? Do you not care at all? Is it normal practice in your company to sell products and not deliver? What? Is it Steam's fault and not yours?
Thanks for nothing *at all*. And keep my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money. That's the last time you'll see it.
The Steam Store page for this game says "Partial Controller Support".
