Witcher 2 Compatable with Directx11?
Hey guys, I'm about to purchase the witcher 2, My specs easily meet the recommended ones, but I've heard that it wont run with direct x 11 and only direct x 9.29. I currently have direct x 11 installed. Can anyone confirm this; and if so what can I do in order to run this game. Thanks
Here are my specs in case your wondering:
- Intel core i7 4720 2.6Ghz
- Nvidia Geforce GTX 960M 4GB
- 16GB RAM
-512 GB SSD

Hardware that supports DirectX 11 is also compatible with DX9 and 10. So, the game should run on your machine.

Alright, but i've heard it runs poorly on dx 11. So i should be fine?

The game uses DirectX 9 even if 11 is also available. Also, most people use DirectX 11 compatible PCs (Windows 7 or newer with a GPU that is less than half a decade old), so you should be fine as far as DirectX is concerned.

Alright, thanks. Just got my new pc and cant wait to play this game; especially since I loved the witcher 3!.

I run it on DX9 with a DX11 GPU just fine. No worries.

Wish there was a way to play it in DX11 mode!
Seeing as how my Soft-TH config NEVER works with this great game, I may as well get the tessellation benefits of DX11... Maybe not possible though? :steamsad:

Yep no idea why you necrod?? however in answer to your question the game would need to be reprogrammed to specifically include dx11 commands,

No one is going to pay a new or the original development team, to go through and change all that, its just not worth the money.
