what book is letho in? (potential spoilers)

im currently reading the books, and nearing the end and finding no mention of him. so i ask what book is letho in cause i know that geralt and him have a past.

Letho is after the books. The books tell the tale of Geralt before he died. The games take place after he died. He met and saved Letho after he died.

but when geralt dies and he loses his memory why can't he remember letho if it was after that

Mmm, HUGE SPOILERS FOR WITCHER 2 AFTER THIS

Basically Geralt dies and is taken by Ciri to the Ise of Avalach with Yennifer in the books. That's it. books have ended. After that the games take over and they tell how the Wild Hunt came for Ciri, Ciri wanting to lead them away, jumps off into a portal to god knows where and when. The Wild Hunt, rather annoyed by this, ended up taking Yennifer and then Geralt chases after them.

While chasing after them he runs into Letho, Serrit and Aucks and helps them. They in turn join him. The 4 of them eventually catch up with the Riders of the Hunt. After a bloody and long battle they realise that A) The riders are NOT spirits but are flesh and blood and B) Neither side is gonna win this fight :P

So Geralt strikes up a deal with the leader of the Wild Hunt. They take him with them and spare Yennifer. The leader agrees to this. He wipes Yennifers memory and claims Geralt. Geralt spends years with the hunt until he finally escapes (or is set free as bait for a certain white haired young girl :P). Thus begins Witcher 1.

Yennifer went with Letho and friends south into Nilfgaard until they got captured by the Emperors spies. The emperor extracts info from Yennifer and basically tells Letho that if he serves Nilfgaard, the Emporer will ressurect the witcher school of the Viper, with Letho at its head.
