Why pick Roche's path? [Spoilers]

What is the point in picking Roche's path over Iorveth's? Vergen is extremely better to quest in, the Kaedweni Camp side is just depressing in comparison. You feel unwelcome there. Even Zoltan and Dandelion hated it there, and the Kaedwenis turn out to be your enemies in the end with all the Blue Stripes getting killed. It made the whole trek feel pointless.

I knew I screwed up when I saw Skalen and some others about to be hanged in Vergen in the ending cinematic (that was him, right?)

This path is one big slap in the face compared to Iorveth's. It fills you with regret and makes you feel like you're on the wrong side. And it's not worth all that trouble just to stay loyal to Temeria. Not that a Witcher likes to take sides in politics anyway.

You also never find out Saskia's identity, there's a little more information on the Wild Hunt in Iorveth's path.

Can we all just agree that Vernon's path sucks?

Vernon Roche by himself save the act if you pick this path, but I agree i prefer Ioverth's one, because of Vergen, because of Iorveth, and mostly because of Saskia. You rarely see a woman knight trying to change things in a politic war. All in all, all mains characters have their charm anyway.

I had a Iorveth playthrough before this one. So it was just a shame seeing the citizens of Vergen hung like that. Had Kaedwen spared them then I probably wouldn't mind the Roche path, but it seems like in Iorveth's path a lot more lives are saved.

Yes many lives was save if you sided with Iorveth like the massacre in Flotsam and Loredo selling Flotsam to Kaedwenis.

As always, it's up to personal choice.

I've played both paths multiple times, but Roche's path always felt the most "natural" to me, story-wise. I also don't like most of the Vergen quests and really dislike the layout of Vergen itself (it's like a 3D maze).
