Activating the copy on steam.

Well i own a physical copy of witcher 2 and i want to activate on steam does anyone know how you can do this.

Also i tried to activate on GOG and it said that the code is already in use. So this is just a general problem or i activated on a different GOG account that i can rememeber ...

Copies that were not purchased through Steam cannot be activated on Steam. You can activate it on GOG, however, so you may have already registered it there if that's what it's saying.

I've bought physical games and i've registered the CD Keys where it says "Active a product on STEAM" under ADD A GAME in the corner so you could try that. You can also register the key on GOG and they will give you a copy for your GOG account (since the makers of The witcher games run GOG as well)...

You can register both The Witcher 1 and 2 using that page and they will add the game to your account. I've done it for both games...

I bought the physical copy at a brick and mortar rretail store. I added the game to steam uunder the option "Add a non steam game or product to steam" I have had no issues until today, 1+ years later. all of a sudden it doesn't recognize it and says I have to purchase it. Again no problems before today, always worked flawlessly through steam.

Do you by chance have a Nvida GPU with GeForce Experience installed? If so, I've had the same problem trying to play my GOG version of the Witcher 2, and recieved the same error. I finally gave up and picked up the game on steam while it was on sale.
