First playthrough: full combat rebalance or not?
I am just starting to play the witcher 2 and I was wondering, should I play with the full combat rebalance or not? Which way would be more enjoyable for a first playthough? I tried researching the topic, but most of the comments are from when it first came out and there were apparently bugs.

Any advice would be much appricaiated.

i played this game without the combat rebalance and i loved it. I feel that a first playthrough of a game should be unmodded, so you experience the game the way it was intended. it is a challenging game, but is fair about it in a Dark Souls kinda way, it punishes recklessness and rewards preparation and carefulness.

I never advise anyone to get the FCR, as the few changes I like are hidden under mountains of changes I think are complete garbage. (active quen blocking or wtf, I'm looking at you) I agree with sweezinator. If you really want to get the baseline experience, go unmodded for your first playthrough. If it's not your speed, try the FCR. But I'll give you the same warning I give veryone that wants to try it. I've read a lot of posts in these forums about people's game installations getting borked by the FCR, even after uninstalling and reinstalling the vanilla version. No real idea on a fix personally, but (I hope) there's one out there, just in case.

No no no no no!
I don't recommend it even on your 50th playthrough, unless you really want to try something new, easier and broken. As already stated, a bunch of changes are pure garbage.

first playthrough you should stick with the normal combat and if you hate it then change. for me i enjoy the normal combat
