The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

Witcher 2 Not Loading With Windows 10...
I can no longer get the game to launch after doing a clean Win 10 install on my SSD. It ran fine on Windows 10 before doing a clean install (the upgrade version from Win 8.1). I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and i've even tried the verify cache integrity option too. DirectX and all device drivers are up to date too!

Has anyone else had this problem?

My specs:

Intel Core i7 4790K CPU
6GB Zotac GTX 980 Ti GPU
16GB DDR3 RAM
250GB Crucial MX200 SSD
2TB SATA HDD
Windows 10 64-bit (clean install).

You don't say what happens when you try to launch the game. Does the launcher disappear or just hang? Have you checked the error log for Windows? Have you tried to run the launcher with Admin authority?

Found the problem and it's now working perfectly! For some reason Windows 10 was saving anything related to the "Documents" folder to "OneDrive" by default instead of the actual PC... I changed the settings and now all the contents of the Documents folder get saved to the actual PC and not the OneDrive cloud.

The Witcher 2 automatically creates a folder within the Documents folder, but it couldn't save it to Onedrive for some reason (instead dumping it to the root of C: and then refusing to launch).

Interesting, thats a new possible fix for the game not launching under 10 to suggest to others. Glad you got it working.

Type "Settings" in the bottom left search bar and then select System, then Storage and select the option that says "New documents will save to:" and then change it to "This PC (C:)".... I noticed a couple of clean Win 10 installs defaulted that option to save to OneDrive which is no good for some Steam games that use the Documents folder.

Alternatively you could just disable OneDrive altogether as I decided to do (i have no need for it really).
