The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

Iorveth from Witcher and Lord Iorwerth from Runescape....
i find it really hard to believe that it's just a coinsidense that their names are so very similar.
not only that, they are both considered as renegade elves, and they are both in command of elf armies, they both also fiercely hate humans.

the only difference is that one of them can be redeemed and befriended in the end, and the other is doomed to die
is it posible that one game influenced the other?

I doubt the guy who wrote the books even knows what runescape is, those traits are just common fantasy archetypes. You should check out TV Tropes to see just how much fantasy stories are similar, and if you actually think this kind of thing is interesting I recommend reading Carl Jung's "Archetypes of the Collective Unconscious" or watching Jordan Peterson's videos about it.
