Game won't launch.

I am finally getting around to play this game, but it won't launch.

I get the launch screen, then press the launch game button. And it just won't start. The launcher does not freeze, there is just a picture of the Wolf and that's it.

I have read several didn't ways to get the game to work, but nothing has helped yet. Maybe there is a long list of ways to fix this, so I can try them all? Waste of my money if the game won't work. :( Heck, I've even received 2 trading cards without even playing the game.

The witcher not starting? What the hell.

So I decided to play some witcher 2 today, but when I press launch, it starts launching, and then it just...dissapears, any help?

I just downloaded it and when I tried to hit play it went throw some of the normal startup for a game and then just disappered, tried hitting play again and it said the game was already running, guess I will go back to skyrim, glad to hear I am not the only one having problems with witchers 2

Well then, gonna go play some Crusader Kings 2 or Max Payne 3 and hope this gets fixed!

Me too, I just tried to start this game 3 times today, than I verify the integrity - ok - and it is just not working, it just won't start.

Well, I think that it's either 5 or 4PM in Poland, so if they realised that they screwed up they'll patch it up today perhaps?

ok, so re-downloading is not helping good to know, 10ks. Though I just talked to a friend and his copy of the game starts, so I don't know what the hell is wrong...

Hey Peoples I just installed this game for the first time on this computer and I was having the same problem but I found out that if you tried installing it while steam was not running as an administrator then it wouldn't edit your registry. It was a simple fix for me just follow the instructions here: http://en.thewitcher.com/support/w2/#q20 You don't have to reinstall either. I hope this helps you also.

Apparently with that fix my game launch, except that it look like s**t. I was able to run it on max settings on my first playthrough some months ago, i wanted to play it again, but i was it with the same issue everybody else are having. That, and the graphics looking horrible. Somehow the game is not saving my settings.

Yeah I've got the same problem. I can now launch the game, but the graphics settings seem to be stuck on the lowest quality.

Yeah I've got the same problem. I can now launch the game, but the graphics settings seem to be stuck on the lowest quality.

It's the same for me basically. I do a clean boot and I can run the game, but it looks awful and I can't change it, so I'd rather play something else :)

Hoping for a fix soon.

Game does not start since newest Patch

Windows 8 x64 here - when i start the game only the game.exe process gets started and thats it, still desktop and no game launcher at all, redownloaded all files verified cache etc.. nothing works! played 3 days ago before the patch eveything was fine..
