The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition

How to go about fighting the operator?
I never thought much of the fury traps so I never bought the diagram to make them.

And it doesn't look like anyone sells traps or diagrams for them in chapter 3. So whats my next best option? My build is mostly a mix. I assumed that I wouldn't have to make a build dictated mostly or entirely towards one branch so I guess Geralts more of a jack of all trades in my playthrough.

Can I still be effective in fighting him without Fury Traps? Whats a good alternative trap?

The gargoyles kill me in about 3 to 4 hits.

aard/ any bomb that can stun, the higher the chance the better and stun kill those golems

if your damage is high enough (that would only work on an alchemy/sword build) you can just finish them off without problems

you may take potions to increase armor/life to survive - damage is not as important, because you should instakill those golems anyway

you can go rafford's + virga if you have a lot of armor
or rafford's + wolf + tawny owl otherwise

I'd suggest the second choice because you also kill stuff quicker (with aard and higher vigor regen)

Well the current armor I'm using has 25 points and 50% resist to several effects and only 15 vitality.

My current steel sword does 57 - 66

and my current Silver sword does 45 - 50

I don't know what would be considered a lot of armor but i'll try the second set up.

I had an armor piece that has only 20 armor but 50 vitality and around 34% resist to several effects. Is it better to go with gear that has better armor points or better vitality but lesser resist?

a lot means best armor with best socket choices and some armor talents

and as for damage you would need key sword talents, (those that increase damage) and impregnation+power mutagens

so stun&run will work best for you

I just got the Deithwen sword that does 25% more damage to gargoyles and large monsters. What runes would work best on it? It does between 44 - 48 damage and has 3 slots.
But my current Silver Sword has a instant kill chance

instant kill chances are generally useless:
1) the chance is extremely low
2) if you rely on it you would need to hit something that is not stunned (stunned enemies would get an instakill anyway, no matter the chance), i.e. can attack you and golems there kill you with a few hits

ysgith is the best rune
the best armor enhancement is diamond reinforcement (armor+life) and can be reproduced/bought

Dear god I just narrowly beat him. I decided to take a sweep around every cave and forest in chapter 3 to gather resources and what do you know I also found a merchant still selling red haze and rage traps. I only had the money and resources for 6 but it was enough and I just barely with an inch of health managed to kill him. Every time the gargoyles killed each other I spammed igni. I think I maxed everything I could for igni so it was a great help. In my full sweep I also found ygsiths armor and elder something pants, gauntlets and boots. I was able to take 2 more hits than usual even with all the potions but still got killed a few times. I got it though.

Thanks for the advice man.
I guess I have a new problem now. I dont have anywhere near the amount of money needed to make Vrans armor. But I do have the resources. What do I do

EDIT: I expect the game will end soon and it won't really make that great of a difference so I guess oh well. I'm not grinding from 95 orens to 2000 for armor thats only moderately better.
